Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart:

1 Corinthians 10:16, “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?”

Our fellowship is the fellowship of the blood of Christ.

The blood streaming forth from Him produces this fellowship and produces His Body.

This is just like the blood circulating through our physical bodies.

It produces the fellowship of the whole body.

My right hand is having sweet fellowship with my left foot because of the circulating blood.

They are unified together.

My body can live and function because there is fellowship going on in my circulatory system.

The blood unites every member in my physical body.

Every part is related to every other part by the circulation of the blood.

If you stop the circulation of my blood, there is no more fellowship between the members.

There is nothing organic.

We are participating in the fellowship of the blood of Christ.

When we are mutually enjoying Christ as our portion, His precious blood connects every member and unites us as the Body.

This is our oneness.

Our oneness is in this blood.

The church is in this blood.

When we throw off all our preferences, our opinions, our thoughts, our views, and come to drink the blood of Jesus together and enjoy our Christ–this one Person with all His glorious work–His blood becomes our uniting factor.

It keeps us and holds us, and we become exceedingly organic.

This is the fellowship of the blood of Christ.
