Daily Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart:
Jeremiah 23:6, “In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
The Lord as our righteousness is mentioned in the Old Testament in several passages.
These verses clearly reveal that Christ the Lord is our righteousness.
They also reveal that we have been transferred out of the source of ourself into the Lord Himself as our “Branch of righteousness” (Jer. 23:5).
When the prevailing condition among God’s people is that the Lord is their righteousness, they will dwell safely.
The Hebrew word for “safely” includes the thought of absolute security to the point of our feeling free from care.
We are free from care in the sense that we do not worry or feel anxious about anything.
When the Lord is your righteousness, you are secure.
It is like going to sleep at night peacefully because your security system is on.
You are released from taking anxious thought.
In the same way, when we know the Lord is our righteousness, we are safe and secure.
We are free from care in a good sense.
We are no longer preoccupied with our condemning self, with all its thoughts and morbid introspection.
Praise the Lord, we have been delivered from that realm.
We have been transferred out of the source of our self into THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
