Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart
Acts 12:13-14, “And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.”
Rhoda’s joyful yet somewhat humorous reaction to Peter’s arrival highlights the human side of experiencing God’s miracles.
Her joy was so overwhelming that she forgot to open the gate and instead ran to share the good news with others.
The believers’ initial disbelief and subsequent astonishment at Peter’s release underscore the unexpected nature of God’s interventions.
This story shows that God works in surprising ways that can leave us in awe and joy.
God’s miracles can bring immense joy and sometimes surprise.
When we witness God’s hand in our lives, it can be both a personal and communal celebration.
Sharing our testimonies of His work can encourage and strengthen the faith of others.
Just as Rhoda shared her excitement, we too should recognize and celebrate God’s actions, no matter how small, and use these moments to uplift those around us.
PRAYER
Father, thank You for the joy that comes from witnessing Your miracles. Help me to always recognize Your hand in my life and to share my testimonies with others to bring glory to Your name. Fill me with the same joy that Rhoda felt, and may my enthusiasm for Your works inspire those around me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
