Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart
LIVING WITH FULL COMMITMENT
Joshua 22:5, “But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
Joshua 22:5 tells us to love God, follow His ways, and serve Him with all our heart and soul.
This means being fully devoted to God in everything we do.
Daniel showed this kind of commitment when he kept praying to God even though he could be thrown into the lion’s den (Daniel 6).
Full commitment to God means making Him the most important part of our lives.
Here are some ways to do this:
PRAYER AND BIBLE STUDY: Start your day with prayer and reading the Bible to set a strong foundation.
DECISION MAKING: Ask God for guidance in all your decisions, big or small.
SERVICE: Find ways to help others, like volunteering or helping a neighbor.
I used to struggle with balancing work and my spiritual life.
When I decided to put God first and spend time in prayer and Bible study every day, everything else started to fall into place.
I felt more peaceful and could handle challenges better.
ASSIGNMENT
Look at your daily routine.
Find one way to spend more time with God, like praying more often or reading the Bible regularly.
Make a plan to include this in your day.
Choose a specific time each day for prayer and Bible reading.
Pick one day a week to do something kind for someone else.
Hymn Suggestion: “I Surrender All”
This hymn reminds us to give everything to God and trust Him with our lives.
When we sing “I Surrender All,” we are telling God that we want to be fully committed to Him.
Think About Past Commitments: Remember times when you made big commitments.
What helped you stick to them?
How can this help you commit to God?
IDENTIFY BARRIERS: What is stopping you from being fully committed to God? Is it busyness or distractions? Knowing these barriers can help you overcome them.
SEEK ACCOUNTABILITY: Share your commitment with a trusted friend who can encourage and support you.
Living with full commitment to God means putting Him first in everything we do.
It brings us closer to Him, gives us peace, and helps us live a fulfilling life.
