By aligning our lives with God’s call, as exemplified by the steadfast faith of figures like Noah and Abraham, we become conduits of His blessings. This unity not only strengthens our church family but also magnifies our impact on the world, ensuring that our shared commitment to God’s mission transforms lives and radiates His love across the globe.

Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart

WALKING BY FAITH

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

Abraham’s journey exemplifies what it means to walk by faith. In Genesis 12, God called him to leave his country, his people, and his father’s household to go to a land that God would later show him. At that moment, Abraham did not have a detailed map or clear instructions on what to expect. All he had was God’s promise and his trust in that promise. His obedience to God’s call, despite the unknowns, demonstrates faith in action.

Similarly, we are often called to step into situations where we cannot see the entire picture. God’s plans for us are sometimes revealed one step at a time, but like Abraham, we must trust in the One who calls us.

In our daily lives, we are faced with situations that require faith—whether it’s taking a new job, moving to a new place, or making a significant life decision. In those moments, it can be tempting to rely only on what we can see, touch, or understand. However, true faith calls us to trust beyond our sight, relying on God’s guidance. Reflect on your own life. Is there an area where fear of the unknown is keeping you from stepping forward? Consider how you might act in faith, knowing that God is trustworthy, even when the path isn’t clearly visible.

Think of standing at the edge of a diving board, looking down at the pool below. From the top, the water seems distant and the jump daunting. Yet, once you take the leap, you realize the water was always there, waiting to catch you. Walking by faith is like that leap. We cannot always see where God is leading us, but we trust that He is faithful, and He will catch us when we step out.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of faith. Please strengthen my heart to trust You, even when I can’t see what lies ahead. Help me follow Your voice and obey Your call, just as Abraham did. Guide my steps and grant me the courage to move forward, confident in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Assignment:  Take a moment to reflect on a decision or situation in your life where you are being called to step out in faith. It might be something that feels uncertain or intimidating. Write down that situation and pray over it, asking God for the strength and courage to move forward. Journal about how God may be leading you, and be open to how He may confirm His guidance in the days ahead. Remember, walking by faith requires action, even when we can’t yet see the end result.
