JESUS IN EVERY MOMENT

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)

It’s easy to think of acknowledging Jesus only in the big, life-changing moments—when making huge decisions or navigating major transitions. Yet Proverbs 3:6 reminds us that our Lord wants to be part of every moment, whether that’s a major career choice, an everyday chore, or a casual conversation with a friend. He isn’t a last resort or an afterthought; He desires—and deserves—to be our constant companion. When we recognize Him in every aspect of our day, we allow His guidance to shape our steps, redirect our missteps, and strengthen our hearts to follow His leadership.

In Luke 10:38–42, Jesus visited the home of Mary and Martha. While Martha busied herself with preparations, Mary chose to sit at His feet, fully absorbed in His presence. Mary’s posture was one of humble acknowledgment—she recognized that the most important thing in that moment was Jesus. Her devotion offers a simple but powerful lesson: when you acknowledge Jesus first, everything else finds its proper place. Though Martha’s responsibilities were important, Mary’s decision to be fully present with the Lord earned Jesus’ commendation.

Think about your daily routines—those ordinary moments that fill your schedule. From your morning coffee to your evening meal, from your commute to your downtime, each part of your day is an opportunity to invite Jesus in. Ask yourself: Am I consciously seeking the Lord’s presence and wisdom in my decisions, actions, and thoughts? Before you rush into your to-do list each morning, pause for a brief prayer. Invite God into your plans. Instead of simply reacting to your day, shape it around the Lord’s presence. You’ll soon discover that focusing on Him transforms even the most mundane tasks into moments of worship.

When we set out on a road trip, we often rely on GPS for directions. If we ignore the GPS or forget to check it, we can easily veer off course. Life can feel the same way. When we move forward without seeking the Lord’s guidance, we risk drifting away from the path He has prepared for us. But if we lean on Him and remain attentive to His leading, He will direct our steps—even when the road takes unexpected turns.

Prayer:  Lord, I invite You into every moment of my life. Direct my paths and help me to prioritize You above all else. Grant me the wisdom to seek You in every decision, the courage to trust Your leading, and the grace to reflect Your love in all I do. May I never lose sight of how deeply I need You. Amen.
