THE CALL TO CHOOSE LIFE

Deuteronomy 30:19, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”

As the Israelites stood on the brink of entering the Promised Land, Moses laid before them a pivotal choice: life and prosperity or death and destruction.

This choice was more than just a decision about their immediate future—it was about forging a lasting relationship with God and securing blessings for generations to come.

Moses urged them to choose life, not only for their own sake but for the well-being of their descendants.

Every decision we make, especially in our spiritual journey, affects not just our lives but also the lives of those around us—our family, friends, and future generations.

By choosing to follow Christ and live according to His Word, we set an example that can inspire and guide others.

Today, consider how your choices reflect your faith and how they can positively influence the lives of those you care about.

Choose life by aligning your heart, mind, and actions with God’s will, understanding that your decisions carry the potential to bless others far beyond what you can see.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I seek Your guidance in making choices that lead to life and blessings. Help me to align my decisions with Your will and to create a ripple effect of faith, hope, and love in the lives of those around me. Strengthen me to walk in Your ways and pass on a legacy of faith that will endure for generations. Amen.

ASSIGNMENT

Reflect on a recent decision you’ve made—was it one that led to life and blessing?

As you go through your day, consciously choose actions and words that reflect your commitment to Christ and contribute to a legacy of faith for others to follow.

Imagine dropping a stone into a calm pond.

The ripples extend outward, touching everything in their path.

Our decisions are like that stone—seemingly small but capable of creating ripples that affect lives far beyond our own.

Make your choices count, for they have the power to bless or burden those who follow after you.
