Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart
1 John 5:5, “Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
The main point of this section of the Word is simply that we would be persons confessing that Jesus is the Son of God.
This is to acknowledge that He is my life, He is the One who lives.
It is His Person that is the object of my attention.
I am riveted to Him.
I am not something in myself.
To say this, is not just a doctrinal confession.
It is a deep release of our spirit with a clear focus on Him.
When our spirit is so focused that Jesus is the One–Jesus is the life, we lay our hand on Him–this activates life within us.
The factor for life to flood us is our being occupied exclusively not with ourself, but with Jesus, the Son of God.
You start your morning with telling Him, “Lord, You are the Son of God. You are the One living today. You are my thought today. You are my feeling. You are my choice. You are my life today.”
Jesus is the Son of God!
It is this continuous fellowship and enjoyment that releases the life and brings forth the testimony, the proper witness, the proper response in our being.
When we testify that Jesus is the Son of God, there is a witness within us that this is right.
You are on course even when your feelings are on the floor, because you are saying, “Jesus is the Son of God. Lord, You are the Son of God. You are the One living today.”
Right away the Holy Spirit witnesses within you.
You have the witness within yourself that everything is okay, because Jesus is the Son of God.
