COMING ON MISSION

Worship doesn’t end when the music stops—it sends you out. In Acts 2, the same Holy Spirit who ignited tongues of fire at Pentecost carried ordinary believers into everyday settings, turning fishermen into fearless proclaimers of Christ. As you leave this gathering, remember: God hasn’t merely filled your cup; He’s trusted you to pour it out. You are His witness, His very hands and feet in a world that desperately needs hope.

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”  —Acts 1:8

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”  —Acts 2:4

  1. The Promise of Power: Jesus promises not just a feeling but supernatural power. This power doesn’t come primarily for personal miracles, but for bold testimony.
  2. The Global Mandate: Notice the geographic progression—Jerusalem (your inner circle), Judaea (your local community), Samaria (those different from you), and the uttermost parts (the nations). Wherever you go this week, that is your “Jerusalem” or “Samaria.”
  3. The Means of Witness: Our witness flows not only from words but from actions bathed in love. The Spirit equips us to speak truth with gentleness and to serve sacrificially where needs are greatest.
  4. Fear vs. Faith: What’s the most common fear that rises when you think about sharing your faith? Write it down, then write beside it a Bible promise that speaks against that fear (e.g., Isaiah 41:10; 2 Tim. 1:7).
  5. Circle of Influence: List three spheres where you interact this week—home, work, neighborhood, online. For each, ask: “How can my life this week testify to Christ’s power?”
  6. Spirit-Driven Steps: Reflect on a time you felt the Spirit prompt you to speak or serve. What happened when you obeyed? How did God use your faithfulness?
  7. Practical Servanthood: Identify one practical need around you—a coworker under stress, a neighbor who’s ill, a friend grieving. How can you step in this week to serve in Jesus’ name?

Prayer:  Spirit of truth and power, I yield myself to You. Take my timid heart and cloak it in boldness. Lord, let my words be seasoned with grace and truth (Col. 4:6), and let my actions embody Your compassion. Open doors of opportunity, and give me the courage to walk through them. When doubts or fears assail me, remind me that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Use me, Lord, as living proof of the resurrection—so that souls will be drawn to know You. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Challenge

  1. Prayer Preparation: Before bedtime, pick one non-believing friend or acquaintance. Spend five minutes in prayer, asking God to soften their heart and give you discernment.
  2. First Contact: Send a simple message—perhaps a verse that encouraged you today, a “God bless you” note, or an invite to coffee. Keep it genuine and low-pressure.
  3. Follow Through: If they respond, listen more than you speak. Ask questions about their life, offer prayer, and be ready to share how Christ has met you personally.
  4. Record & Reflect: At week’s end, journal what happened. Celebrate every door God opens, however small, and note what the Spirit is teaching you.

Go in peace—armed with Spirit-wrought power and heaven-sent boldness—to make Christ known wherever you tread!
