THE URGENCY OF THE DECISION

2 Corinthians 6:2 – “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus tells the story of two men who lived vastly different lives.

The rich man enjoyed luxury and comfort, but he ignored the suffering of a poor man named Lazarus, who sat at his gate, longing for scraps of food.

When both men died, their roles were reversed.

Lazarus was comforted in Abraham’s bosom, while the rich man found himself in torment, separated by an unbridgeable chasm.

The rich man pleaded for relief and for someone to warn his family, but it was too late.

His fate was sealed by the choices he made during his life.

This parable starkly illustrates the finality of our decisions in this life and the importance of making the right choice before it’s too late.

The decision to follow Christ is the most important one you will ever make, and it’s not something to be delayed.

Life is unpredictable, and we never know when our last opportunity to choose will come.

The Bible emphasizes the urgency of this decision, declaring that “now is the day of salvation.”

Every moment we put off responding to God’s call, we risk missing the chance to secure our eternal future.

If you feel God tugging at your heart, don’t wait.

Choose Christ today.

Embrace the assurance of His salvation, experience the transformation He brings to your life, and hold on to the promise of eternity with Him.

The time to act is now.

PRAYER

Lord, I understand the urgency of the decision to follow You. Help me not to delay but to respond to Your call today. Give me the courage and strength to choose life in Christ and to live each day fully committed to You. Amen.

ASSIGNMENT

If you have not yet made the decision to follow Christ, take time today to pray and commit your life to Him.

If you are already a believer, think of someone in your life who has not yet made this decision.

Reach out to them, share your faith, and express the urgency of choosing Christ now.

Imagine a door standing open before you, inviting you into a place filled with light, life, and hope.

But this door won’t stay open forever; it will close at some point, and the opportunity to enter will be gone.

The time to step through the door is now.

Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Choose life today, and walk into the light and promise that Christ offers.
