Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart
Ephesians 1:9-10, “Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:”
Every Christian who enters into the apostles’ comprehension of Scripture will never be void of God’s speaking.
The comprehension of God’s purpose is itself a mandate.
It is the Lord’s voice to carry out His purpose on this earth today.
The above verses are a testimony of Paul’s own comprehension of God’s purpose.
God’s full salvation came to Paul “in all wisdom and prudence” (v. 8).
This simply meant that God had made known to him the mystery of His will.
He was able to comprehend God’s eternal purpose.
Yet his comprehension was “unto” something, which is explained in verse 10 as the heading up of all things in Christ.
To Paul, his comprehension of God’s purpose was not for mere doctrinal knowledge.
It was the Lord’s voice to him for a practical working out of His administration to head up all things in Christ.
If today we comprehend something of God’s eternal purpose with the church – if indeed the Holy Spirit has enlightened us by the written Word of God to be able to put it all together–then that in itself is the Lord’s voice speaking to us to take steps for a practical working out of the church life on this earth.
Our comprehension of God’s plan in His Word is His speaking to us today.
