Daily Beats From Your Pastor’s Heart:

John 8:29, “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”

Making time to be with the Father was one of the most marked features of the Lord’s life.

As we read the Gospels, we see that He not only lived in the Father (John 14:10) and had continuous fellowship with the Father, but He also practiced in a regular way setting aside special time to be with the Father and pray.

The following verses reveal the Lord’s own habits in spending time with the Father: Mark 1:35, “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”

Luke 5:16, “And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.”

Luke 6:12, “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.”

Matthew 14:22-23, “And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.  And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray:and when the evening was come, he was there alone.”

Luke 9:18, “And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?”

Luke 9:28-29, “And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.  And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.”

Luke 11:1, “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

Luke 22:39-41, “And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him . . . And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,”

Until Tomorrow,

With a Shepherd’s Love

Pastor
